i understand if you wanted to keep your bike stock.. but I don't understand how a current gen GS800. You have all gears except your suit trousers.. okay.. weird but whatever floats your boat. But please don't ride your BMW like I'm driving my BMW and riding next to me almost in my blind spot.. My driver window was down and I couldn't hear you when you're on my right side.. I still couldn't hear you when you were directly in front of me.. My hearing isn't that bad.. I use my ears for a living..
Would it be that bad to like, rev your bike a little higher than 2000 rpm when you shift so I can hear you? i'm not telling you to bounce off the redline every time you shift, but damn.. the last thing I wanna do is to clip a fellow rider going 25 mph... or for that matter, anyone else to clip you because they can't hear you.. the scooter that I was driving by earlier today was louder than your bike... I didn't know BMW made their bikes quieter than 50cc....:|

pfffft not me. i'm busy fuggin txting on my iphone while i'm websurfing on my tethered iPad to BARF and listening to some ethnic radio station while eating my fruit tart and operating the shifter with my elbow making sure that i check the A/C is set to 75.6 degrees ... all while steering the wheel with my huge manballs.

you know i met a few riders who wants to go the opposite direction of loud pipes? they said they wanted the quietest silent pipes ever... the more silent, the better. I asked why? they said stock pipes are too loud??????? :O

Use your eyes. I drive an SUV and I don't have a blind spot because I move my head and have my mirrors adjusted properly. You have no excuse.
