Actually also seems to have found a leak. Looks like oil and it has smeared exactly over one of the bolts of the oil pan. (The lower, right, blurry one in the picture).

That's fluid glistening at the border between the T30 bolt and the black(plastic ?) pan .

I wipe it and the glistening came back immediately. (May have even been with the

However it's coming from somewhere on the top. Engine 😱?!?!

If it's not dripping on the ground it's seepage, not a leak.:x
Yeah , this turbo 2.0 perhaps seepage from the top/gasket? I was thinking it's famous for that bc the Germans have started using liquid sealant for the gasket or something.

Here's a picture for the area looking from the oil pan upwards. The brown parts are clearly oily. On the bottom is the black oil pan bolted to the aluminum block.

In the center middle is the driveshaft I guess

(This is actually after I wiped with a towel so the bottom right bolt is not too visibly oily)

Lower timing cover. Super common. Probably upper too but I can't see from the photo. Unless it was done recently, might as well plan on doing the timing chain and cam bridge if you're going to have the cover done.

Okay, heavy seepage. :x
Follow the oil trail up. You may have to spray it down really good to find the source. Seriously tho, on my 100k+ cars I don't even pay attention until there's a drip on the driveway.

My mind is 100% in the gutter reading this post.

Heavy seepage... Oil trail... Spray it down....

Finally going home tomorrow. Just got back from making a candy run. The local liquor store is the only place I've been to in years that still sells Warheads candy.

The lady working the register asks if that's all I want. I said yes, why? She says because you're in a liquor store. People usually buy alcohol. :laughing

I have one last thing to do tomorrow morning that should only take about 10-15 minutes and I'M OUT.

what is this? bitch in the living room (999) dropped a bit of oil (about a tablespoon). at first we thought - leak? put a mat under her - nothing since. now, being the women both me and her are, i like to think she got her rocks off. you go girl. :laughing

giggity.

i wanna put a bike in my living room. better discuss which one with the roomie.

I don't know about the bike in the living room -- considering I got enough of an oil smell from an oil collection pan today.. :laughing

Wow, okay. Well now I KNOW where the oil is disappearing !!!

Yeah, I might want to check if they added a recall/warranty on this. No, it was never done but the car also still at relatively low mileage.. .

Doesn't look like a big leak. There was a blotch of only about 2 inches diameter on the underbelly protector (for many thousands of miles) .. just IMO?! :dunno

If it was leaking enough for you to get a low oil warning, you'd have a humongous mess in your garage. If you're burning more than a quart every 1200 miles, you might have either a bad crankcase vent valve or internal wear.
