Shoulda just gone full matrix and gave the phone a good stare to reset everything, then handed it back and got on with your shows 😆

That’s no dream Kurosexi, that’s my bf life! You channeled my life into your dreams.

God I hate living on acreage, It's just never ending bullshit. No I am not replacing another fucking bent bar on my chainsaw. I just don't care. Firewood? I'll buy it. Trees that need to be cut? Fuck them.

Trade ya for my 640 sq ft in the middle of SF. No maintenance work, all the heat gain and city noise you can stand! Walkable to anything though!

Yeah man don't you hate acreage....

...

I mean, there are benefits in living and working in groups and community...but it's obvious that living near nature, also has benefits of living..near nature.

My friend has 40 acres and used to work it himself but he can't do it any longer.

To keep the property relatively fire safe costs him a fortune even though his excellent workers only charge 25 buck an hour.

His house burned in the Tubbs fire but they rebuilt.

Nice to visit though.

I'm no tech whizz but I can easily do all the troubleshooting between TV, apps, computers, video games, phones, etc before having to call tech support.

I hate troubleshooting electrical systems on cars/bikes though. I'll just call a friend before frustrating myself through that process.

I can't imagine living on the amount of land you do. I'm fine doing the majority of handy man stuff in and outside of house. I

Don't wanna to deal with the rest of that stuff outside of that. Glad my current place is townhome style so I don't have a lawn and even I did, it would be part of HOA fees and not out of my pocket anyway.

Ok, crisis averted. I bought a new bar and chain. Pisses me off. It's totally my fault of course, but see, I am not a handy person. I never grew up with a dad that showed me how to do stuff. I never had a job where I had to learn it (other than bio stuff and building gear). So everything is a learning process and I am too old to deal with the mistakes. What should take an hour takes me all day because I have to learn it the hard way and by the time I am done, I am so fucking pissed off I can't even appreciate my accomplishment.

I remeber the first time I hung a gate. I was so proud because it's kind of a pain in the ass to hold a six foot gate in place with one arm while tightening the hinge bolts (which never fit) with another. Then I opened it and it came right off the hinges because contrary to my understanding, you need to install one hinge upside down. So back to square one.

It's pretty much like that with anything I try and do.

Back to walking about in the outside world, so whatever this cold was is waning. Still about as sharp as I'd be after a bad hangover, so, not 100% but much improved. Got what seemed like not a lot of groceries at all, in that I'll be back there in a few days, and it was spendy, unsurprisingly. Gonna spend the afternoon wokring on getting some cash out of stocks at the worst possible time while attempting to minimize capitol gains so as to keep medical expenses down. Should be fun. Odds are the market will rebound not to long after I sell. If it does, you're all welcome.

School of hard knocks ftw. My dad would show me some things, but he was also the kinda guy who got impatient and did the work himself while I "watched". I usually got bored and started looking for bugs.

At 13 or 14 I got hired by a neighbor to do some yard work for him. I get there and he had a fallen tree that needed to be cut into sections. He handed me a chain saw and asked if I'd ever used one, I had not. So I got some quick instruction on the dos and don'ts and he watched me make a cut or two. After that I was on my own, no ear protection, no safety glasses, pretty sure I was wearing shorts. I got that tree sliced and diced and didn't lose any body parts. I was quite proud of my work but I think my parents were not as excited about me using a chain saw mostly unsupervised as that age, so I never did get more work from that neighbor.

Guessing they were "J" bolt hinges.

:laughing 👍

Learned to run saw in the CCC eventually was the sawyer for a hand crew cutting fire line. I think @nakedape and I both worked for the same brush clearing outfit in Albany. Doing saw work everyday you learn somethings the hard way.

I do not have one, but I might get to use one this summer, I applied for a job as a watershed maintenance worker for SF and it sounds like it mostly manual labor using hand tools and chain saws and stuff.
