And these are the kind of drivers we share the road with.

Y’all ride safely!

Living and working near Rossmoor retirement community (aka wrinkle ranch) most of my life, I've seen that happen at least 10 times in person. One time some old guy in a Volvo came thru the wall of a shop I was working in.

And if you’re not sure what pedal you are pushing on, you shouldn’t be driving. If I ever get to that point, I will voluntarily stop driving.

Don’t see that happening, though.

In this case I think she was in D and pushed really hard --as she probably usually does, because she was a bad driver -- but she really thought she was in R ...to leave the parking spot.

Actually I'm just guessing. Maybe she was going forward and jumped that curb and sidewalk simply like that.

(All of these are never going to stop being funny to me though!)

Anyway I need a beer , pronto. And some chill out...

One should never push hard on the gas pedal unless you are going for maximum acceleration.

Some people have zero skills. And usually they never had them.

No doubt. But if one is making mistakes as egregious and dangerous as that, they shouldn’t be driving.

Also, never try to push the brake with your left foot if you are used to driving manual transmission cars. You will push the brake way harder than you intend to. :laughing

also means you're faster on the brake cus your left foot is already in position to use the peddle.

I did this when home from college and driving my parents minivan. I was quite impressed with it's stopping distance 😆

Nope. You should never brake with your left foot. In a panic stop you will reflexively stomp with both feet. If your left foot is on the brake then your right foot will mash the accelerator pedal to the floor. Left foot belongs on the dead pedal (or the clutch if equipped.) Drivers Ed 101.
