The battery is installed, the car is working :wow :laughing

Cold voltage was 12.42 V right after I put it in the car . I measured very briefly . Pic says 10/25 manufacture on the sticker .

It fits and looks perfectly in the OEM space

If I recall AE, you said the battery is 8 years old. Stop torturing yourself. Come to St Ralph and we'll replace your battery and be done with it.
Thanks for the kind offer tx

Went to the dealer, got compliments (twice) from the service guys for my small 18 y/o VW with VR6 and AWD

Got $200 back from lowes, better than nothing I suppose given I didn't have my 48 hour return window leverage and the damage is minor and cosmetic only.

Unrelated, I was looking for a deep 14mm allen socket to get at the oil screen on my Ducati. Couldn't find a single local source nor anything from the usual online tool shops. Found one at Walmart for $9. It shipped today from China, for free, and will be here next week. I'm sure it'll be top quality crap, but for what I will be using it for it'll do fine.

Well cheers 🍺 I could indeed barely see anything on the picture. Maybe it was definitely visible in person

deep 14mm allen socket
14 is the wheel socket for vw mk4 and mk5 (and 6+ probably) … … ooooh Allen… yeah they exist, I have one somewhere . I think the brand is Titan

Apropos, F.U., Germans :p for putting a 13 mm bolt + clamp on one side of the battery :laughing ;) .. for stabilization

wow. turns out that f-n Waymo DID really run over that cat in the most inhumane way possible: i.e. with a woman clearly standing one foot away, and, crouching down and kittkatting the little animal. (Cat-calling).

So yeah . No driver--it just took off, not caring about the nearby things.

it's a little triggering, actually

So ^^ you were warned
also: the title kinda says "Waymo lied" :

Video of how "Kit Kat" was killed by a Waymo surfaces. Video contradicts Waymo's statement.

I mean, the cat was in a spot where the car's sensors wouldn't see it. It's tragic but not surprising.

BATTERIES!!!!

I missed all of the conversation this but...

BATTERIES!!!!

(I want to be included!)

Yells at clouds in frustration.

I just checked and they are. In that case, Waymo is not at fault. Electric vehicles don’t make any noise prior to taking off. They simply start to move. An ICE vehicle makes noise when it starts up. And when it’s put into gear. Those kind of things provide warnings that the car is about to move.

Waymo is not at fault.

Found a small folding Böker knife in the couch. I lost it five years ago… :wow why is there rust on the blade , weren’t these things supposed to be stainless?!?

Need to buy steel wool #0 tomorrow, #00 was too fine but removed most of it

I honestly don't know why one of the self driving car companies haven't come out to say they'll start installing lidar under the chassis. It'd be an easy PR win even if it took a while to implement...

Definitely sucks. We were moving last night and a cat ran out in front of us, far enough away for us to stop, but we also drive way slower than most drivers in SF. That cat is one life down. Also it wasn't far from where I saw a coyote.

New oven is supposed to be delivered today. Third times a charm. I'll believe it when I see it. :x
It took over a month and three rescheduled times to get my fridge.
