We saw two bald eagles this afternoon on the Coyote Creek Trail behind Coyote Creek golf course. Many turkey buzzards, feral pigs and a few deer. One deer had a nice rack, and was following three does.

It's the right time of year for eagles in my area. Went out looking a couple of weeks ago and found a few

Are they rare in Santa Clara?
In past years I’ve seen swarms of them in December and January just 30 minutes from me. So many I barely give them a second glance. Took those pics last week cause a friend who rarely ever seen an eagle wanted to check them out. I brought him to the area and let him borrow a camera to take his own pics. Dude got so excited he went and bought his own camera a few day later. Turned out to be an expensive excursion for him.
 
So the Internet always shows one such birb in the East Bay.

So maybe yes one or two near Santa Clara too. But still I guess this is pretty good to have around there

I'm still stuck at the coyote 🐺 four days ago past me in SF 😆.. but yeah there are tons of hawk and often the green chirping parrots
 
basically on a shelf. It makes for an entertaining exit and approach on the bike - When I leave the house I can go left and straight down or right and straight up. Add a little moss/slime and wheeeeeee :laughing

No, they nest at Almaden Reservoir and Anderson. Probably a few others. There is a nest at San Pablo Reservoir, Lafayette Reservoir, and others.

They are around.

That is Big Daddy AKA Dennis or Clifford depending on the year you met him.
