They are a buy once item, you can replace parts as they wear which is nice. But yeah, you got fancy tires. Could always get another set of wheels with a different profile of tires that are better for the spikes, and run snows + spikes on those for ultra traction.


Home from work, having a beer at home while the SO chats with a friend. I almost made it home dry and then the wind tried to kill my umbrella so I put it away and got soaked in two minutes flat.

yaaaaaa :( :cry :rofl ... when we bought it used, the car looked good on pictures, MAAANY months or years later I realized the huge wheels with wide tires (255 width) are not good for snow-anything. ... limited chain or snow-tire selection for this family hauler with FWD : | :laughing :dunno nobody should get low profile. ... okay, they "look" good tho 😁

that's what I thought, too, last April. But completely forgot and didn't buy neither wheels nor tires... eh. Yeah, they could go down to 235-width for example, I think a common size for this Car Model in its other wheel variations + AWD.. 215, too.

(edit: I .. should improve on that actually. This is not too good. It does involve work+$$$ though.. They should be slimmer, or, another vehicle )

You are a small bit better off than me, because you have more choice of chains (and more storage space for tires) I think ..
(I assume you have 225 or slimmer width like 215 or 205)

But yeah you do have to carry chains, also.

Naw, set of steel wheels and snow tires are any VW is invincible. I used to pick up hitchhiking back country skiers in my golf on the way to winter Park Colorado and they would often assume my little TDI was all wheel drive, but it was definitely not

Well that's how I felt about his last one. I think maybe I'm of two minds on this. One side, he's given us a ton of funny shit with his earlier stand ups and his show so if this is the platform he wants to speak about stuff, have at it, he's earned it. Otherside, stand up comedy is supposed to be like, you know... funny.
 
chappelle show was like 20 years ago. There's only so much leeway you can earn.
