Dennis, if your wife continues to complain about the switches, change to electronic switches. I have 3 way switches in my hall. Three of them. There is no up or down. If the lights are off, I simply push on any one and the lights turn on. Turn the lights off, same thing. And all the switches look the same. No getting hung up on what position the switch is in.

Also, all the switches I have in my home are dimmer switches. Turn the lights on half way. Turn them off with a single push. To turn them on again, a single push on any switch returns the lights to their previous level of brightness. Or, a quick double push on any switch turns the lights on full bright.

Also, dimmer switches are the smart thing to have in your home. Not only do they save electricity when dimmed, but they can be used to alter the mood of a room. Every switch in my home is a dimmer switch. Even the LED lights under my kitchen cabinets and inside my nook cabinets are each dimmable by their own switches. And dimmer switches are especially handy for use in your TV room. You can dim your lights so that you don’t over power your TV. And one doesn’t need full bright most of the time in most rooms. It’s simply more pleasant to use dimmers rather than to be assaulted by lights turned on full bright.

Finally, if using LED lighting, always use a color temperature the same as incandescent bulbs. The blue white light of many LED’s is harsh on the eyes and gets old very quickly.

I presume that was directed at my post just above your post.

Many people don’t realize that lighting can be very effective in creating a comfortable and soothing environment in your home. For instance, having the lights dimmed in my family room where my TV is makes for a much more pleasant environment to watch TV but still leaves enough light on to see the glass of wine on my end table.

And they do save electricity when dimmed. If you would like to know how they do this, I can explain.

Dennis, nothing I’ve said will prevent you from using your lights. And changing your switches might help your wife.
