I was mom to a newborn when I started (he was two weeks old). I was exhausted and unprepared having dropped out of high school. If I could go back and talk to 19 year old me I’d have said, “go study nursing” and saved myself a lot of time and hassle.
 
I didn’t go to college but, as an engineer in the medical device field at startups, I pulled many all nighters preparing for animal studies and similar activities.
 
Feeling some good juice in this thread.
I like it when the human vibe rolls positive and makes me warm inside.

Okay well I'm just going to do it now.

One of my best friends had been planning to visit me here in the wonderful city of Hemet. He put together this plan without even knowing much... lunch at a sushi restaurant, then movie with our friends Jim, Danielle, and their daughter Alaina, SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY. Then we went bowling. Average score was about 130. A guy at the adjacent lane bought us two pitchers of beer (I guess he was a regular and liked good conversation)

After, we went back to Jim and Danielle's room and played Skull King for a couple hours. (Great card game if you've never played it)

Don't forget... this is fucking Hemet. Middle of Nowhere...My friends drove all this way just to hang out with me...INCLUDING Alaina, one of the fuckin biggest troopers of cancer that I know.

I’ve had such a stellar weekend. Mom was here Friday night. Sent her home feeling loved and did a little spoiling. My acquaintance Patty showed up. I am giving him my black DR. He was a riot. We had a silly amount of fun and then went on a short pedal this morning. Pedaling with friends beats pedaling alone.

I cooked a nice dinner last night and am enjoying the leftovers. I have a chill 4 day week and can’t wait for eureka
 
And just like that, our youngest kid is an adult 😭. It's been a heck of a fun time. She was 7 when her mom and I met. And now she's a gorgeous, talented, amazing young woman. We've really connected this last year. Love going to the mall together, playing with the cats, going out for ramen, and we've been to the circus twice this year :laughing. Maybe that's our thing now lol. I'm grateful she's let me be part of her life. I'm a proud stepdad!
