R6 rider on speed?

in case anybody was wondering, like myself, who the rider was: Jeffry de Vries, Dutch Superbike Champion '91,'92,'95

jesus that was fast !!!! had that thing banked full tilt over before you really could see the corner that was commin' !!! whew !!!

wow, those looked like some really smooth fast laps! That thing must be geared really steeply, it barely lost any RPMS when shifting. Perfect!

+1. No way it's the stock gearing I wouldn't think.

Great video. Smooth rider and fun to watch.

I could've swore I heard the frame scraping on asphalt. Madness.

The latest R6's are relatively gutless down low (much like the 2004-on R1). They have a top-weighted powerband. Wringing the bike's neck is pretty much the only way to make good time around a circuit.

:wtf

The 08's have the YCC-I chip that is supposed to distribute power evenly throughout the rpm's. Haven't ridden one, but that was supposed to be the huge change for
08.

Yup. I was going to say the same thing. The reviews I've read say that the hole down low is now gone. That's why I may get one if I don't like the new Buell 1125R

:loco Mark :loco

wow if thats true then I would get one as well. just have to wait for the review it hit the stands :)

i'm positive pucks don't sound like that and only touched down once during that whole video the pace the guy was riding.

the Google translation of that page is pretty funny:

The Suzuki Bandit is called the Suzuki Gangster in those translation pages, what a cool name for a bike. :laughing

It's easy to see why World Superbike eventually dropped Sugo off the schedule, there's just not enough runoff. The track is in an odd location too, I've been to Sugo three or four times and it's wayyyyy out in the sticks so the fan attendance was always low. But I met my wife at Sugo so it does have that going for it. :thumbup

The new R6 seems quite potent!
