I prefer the look of the R1's under seat exhaust, but I don't *need* an R1, so, do I get the R6 since it basically looks the same body wise, or do I get 600rr?I hear lots of good things about the R6, but I never hear anything about the other.

So what do people think of them? Pros? Cons? Has this already been beaten to death somewhere else?:deadhorse

get the zx10R, its got TWO under tail exhausts

600 rr is best all around bike

Agreed

Its more comfy, has better midrange, better ergos, and still holds its own at the track

AND its got an undertail exhaust that keeps your arse nice and warm :teeth

people seem to have a hardon for the R6's

they are both great bikes...

one cost WAY less then the other... (kawi cheaper)

both are great proformers and have a god amount of aftermarket crap

actually that ergos' are worth mentioning...

i recently rode an kawi 600 and loved it...

much nicer

So does an 848. Get one of those. I think the R6 has not enough in the midrange and too much on the top end IMHO. I like the looks of the R6 far more than the Honda tho.

plus every rider is different, I would suggest as many do, to sit on and try to ride them all first before pulling the trigger

BUt yeah, the ergos of the zx6r are pretty nice. A bit more laid out over the tank but not bad

i rest my case :teeth

Since when is 9000RPM considered midrange?

No - really. I'd honestly like to know when this awesome change in perspective took place.

HONDA FAN BOYS!!!!

lol

bring your class M DL and a DOT helm to santa rosa on SAT THE 16! to santa rosa (north bay power sports on SR ave.)

they are having an open test drive... no R6's but you can ride the 600RR's

just flash your licence (sorry guys no permits) and show your DOT sticker and sign a waiver...

EASY

For sport bikes like the r6 that is the upper midrange:nerd

My tard doesn't even rev up to this new midrange:rofl

If you are shifting at 9k on the street with the RR, you are well above the speed limit very quickly. I can short shift at 5k and still always be in front of all traffic

Unless you are on the freeway, then it buzzes along at 7k at 85mph

they are both great bikes...r6 is track oriented bike...rr is both...no wonder rr is bike of the year for 2 years straight...

That sounds like a great idea. I did that recently with the Ducati Hypermotard event they did up at Alice's. Awesome way to find if you do, or don't, like a bike :teeth

That's my back up plan if I don't like 600rr or the R6 enough :thumbup

Thanks for the input so far, I'll definitely keep an eye on the thread. After this weekend, I might have a better idea of how the rr feels. Now I just need to find a dealer that will let me ride an R6 around.

lets be realistic ,your not going to be going to the track! since you are debating a bike over some exhaust....if you want a real good street bike... get a speed triple!

a 600rr will get you this type of chick ,
