Want some opinions on the race fairings I will need for my newly acquired 2012 GSXR1000.
Who's have the best figment?
Who's are the best quality?
Where is the best source?

Hotbodies
Sharkskinz
Optimal
Sabimoto

Thanks for your input!

BTW, I'm selling most of the stock gear from this motorcycle. Let me know if you need anything!

I've had Sharkskinz, Armor Bodies, & Optimal. They're all great however, if you're on a budget the Optimal's are the way to go. Sharkskinz & Armor Bodies plastics are very well constructed and super light compared to Optimal. By far I prefer the Armor Bodies.

Fit

My biggest concern is fit. I dont mind paying a bit extra for a set that will fit well and wont require a bunch of jimmy-riggin'.

Stay away from sebimoto. I got fooled into by a BARFer :rolleyes and 800 dollars later (including a paint job) my fairing fitness is not that great.

:mad

I had optimal on my GSX-R and they were great. Fit wasn't as good as Sharkskinz on my R6 but really decent. So Cal company and the customer service is pretty good as well.

This is what I'm after, some first hand experiences. I hope to have a few more by tomorrow, so I can make a sound decision.
Thank you to all who have contributed!

Optimal fits tons better on my CBR than ArmourBodies. Optimal, i just drill the holes in the center and it fits. i had to do glass work on the ArmourBodies to get anything to line up. i think fit is very model specific, so my experience probably isnt applicable to a GSXR.

I've currently have Armour Bodies and Optimal currently

Armour Bodies is on my B-Bike (R6) and the fit and finish is top quality. Fit was perfect. Just drill center of the marks and it was good. Quality to shoot paint on was very excellent as well.

Optimal is on my A-Bike (R6) and the fit wasn't as "easy" as Armour Bodies and took a little extra work, but overall i didn't have to cut anything or re-fiberglass anything. The finish to shoot paint on it was top quality as well. Comes with great primer coat and easily scuff's for paint.

Optimal is half the price of Armour Bodies but i don't think its half the quality. Your deal is with Optimal as it's just as good as Armour Bodies for half the cost.

$800 including a paint job seems like a great deal even for HotBodies quality.

Hot Bodies.. LOL. Had a set of those on my track whore for a season.. I think it came pre-cracked from the "factory" but for about $450 shipped it was good enough to get my through until I could find a nice used set of nice glass. :D

I've had the best luck and fit/finish with SharkSkinz

Hot Bodies couldn't seem to ship me anything without it being damaged

I've never bought a complete body, only selective pieces but http://catalystracingcomposites.com/ makes some really nice stuff. Not as light as SharkSkinz but well made.

Sharkskinz for the win. Everything else is just below that standard. Armour bodies is good, not Sharkskinz quality. Hot Bodies is dynamite! It blows up when it touches the track.

Catalyst composites is nice but I have seen some nice results with optimal as of late. They are value priced but seem to be good. I had great luck with armor bodies on my last bike but the catalyst stuff was even better. I've thrown away a hot bodies tail. Brand new. Nobody would return it and it fit so bad I didn't dare try to sell it because nobody else deserved the pain. Yrmv.

Some really great opinions here. Thank you all. I ordered the Sharkskinz and when I called to follow up on the order this morning, the employee told me all Sharkskinz are made to order and it would be 3 weeks, plus 5 for shipping if I wanted them. He then suggested the Armor Bodies at less cost, similar quality and can ship today. I should have them by Monday.
Ill provide some info on the install.
Thanks again!

Went with the Armor Bodies kit and couldnnt be happier. Quality was high, fit was good, all prepped to paint and felt very sturdy and not flimsy. I would order again.
Now ready for paint after fitting the bike today.
