My weekend started Friday by getting things ready up the hill for supermoto. My wife and daughter were coming up from Fresno to race with supermoto usa, so i had to make sure they were set up for the weekend. Once that was done my crew set up our pits and bikes were gone over. Friday night we went to bed early and was ready for Saturday practice. My first practice was on the 250 Ninja. We were able to get into the winning lap times on the first sesson. We fixed a small problem with some tuning on the rear shock, then we were go to go and focus on the Kawasaki 650 twin. The bikes are still under development to get some power, but knowing sears point in a handling track, thats where our efforts were focused on. Spears Enterprises and Dave Moss from Catalyst reaction got the bikes set up and i was able to get into the 1:48 mark. Still 3 seconds from the fast guys, but down 15 hp. I was hoping to finish top 5 in my races starting on the 7 th row. After practice i was ready for the F40 race. I started second row and got the hole shot. I wa able to hold the lead for several laps, but was slowed up in traffic. Then trying to play catch up made my rear tire get greasy and slid around. Jay got around me, but i was able to stay with him and run him down on the braking, but couldnt get by. Clay Johnston passed me on the checkered flag, but ran off in turn one. So I finished 4th. Bumber for clay. After the race we put new tires on and was ready for dinner. That afternnon my manager signed me up to race the slow pit bike race. I was able to win the heat races and the main< but had some close calls on by BIOT sponsored Go Ped. They gave out a cool trophy even better then the AFM one's. Thanks Guys. It was fun. Any way, Sunday i was able to finish top 5 in both 650 races and i won the 250 prod race. I think we'll be doing better as Spears Racing makes them better every time he's near them. Congrats to my spears teammate Dave Raff. See you guys at the track.
You are a 40-something weekend-warrior having a blast, so you don't have a "manager" just a bunch of good friends who want to help you race.
And you were damn lucky I didn't run you over in T11 when you overshot the corner and then came back across on the inside the fallen rider (Formula 4).
See ya in three weeks at RFR (August 29-30), not "next month"!
