Read my Tire

Or it says something about your suspension set up, as well.

Dave Moss has tire reading classes at MotoShop and addiction. I've yet to take it, but he's a pro when it comes to reading tires.

it says

Eat at Joes:teeth

Is that a Bridgestone?

How many miles on the tire?

What motorcycle?

Looks like a run of the mill worn out tire.

Tires don't always wear out evenly if that's what you were thinking.

Most of my fronts, on the Bmw-GS with sport touring tires, show that kind of wear.

The reason I asked about it being a B-Stone is that I have had that sort of wear on pretty much every one of their tires I've ever had. They end up with a profile like a stop sign.

What PSI does your manual call for?

This is the second tire that has worn into this shape on the bandit, despite keeping the tire pumped to 36psi or higher.

36 sounds high.

The tire has lost it's round contour, time to toss it. It also shows cornering at a very moderate lean angle (that's OK for street wear).

It says "I'm done!" to me.
And like RCB said, check out Dave Moss' tire reading class if you possibly can... you'll learn a lot.

36 sounds high.

It's all bike dependent. My ST1300 needs 42/42 to handle best.

On a side note on my first BARF group ride someone forced me to drop my pressures (irritating) then we proceeded to ride at a driving miss daisy pace.

Looks like a commuter front tire with about 5k miles on it. Either city or freeway with a couple of spirited rides on it at one time or another early on. Oh and stock front suspension.

my :2cents

tires start to wear like shit when they get old and close to the wear bars. feathering, cupping, and uneven wear usually appear even if they werent noticeable throughout the tires life. i wouldnt worry about it, especially on street tires.

izzat a dual compound tire? they tend to wear into a half-a-octogon section profile

Looks like a commuter tire...yep worn out.

You know what, it is! My first experience with them.

FWIW, I've run dual compound S/T tires from Bridgestone, Pirelli, Dunlop and Michelin. In my experience, Bridgestone is the worst for this kind of wear pattern. I haven't run the new T30's, so they may be better, but the BT-021 and 023 were awful for this. Had the same problem with Dunlop Roadsmarts as well.

I read that as: heavy bike, commuter, trail braking deep into the corner and then using maintenance throttle through and past the apex, your girlfriend is a redhead, you have a chocolate labrador retriever and some day you'll have 2 kids.

Wadda I win?

^^^ lol are you talking about me?

Same thing used to happen to me. Check your PSI and suspension.
