Hey guys/gals,

Wondering if anyone has bought a master cylinder off of ebay? i see a lot of aftermarket units going for about $15 new, and used oem units for $30+ but no telling if the piston is frozen or not like mine. Suzuki wants $200+ for theirs :wtf. I thought i can fix the rear brake with no pressure by simply doing a rebuild. Only thing is, the piston is frozen way in there. Tried soaking it for 6 hours with PB blaster and it wont budge. Tapped a bolt extractor to the piston and still nothing.

So, those $15 master cylinders reliable? one vender shows they've sold over 500 units

Try kerosene...........

I applied a little bit of heat. Then tap on the opening while holding the bolt extractor with pliers. Did the trick
Already installed and bleed!

Thanks

I didn't take a pic but there was a bunch of corrosion around the the piston shaft and head. The spring was holding on to a bunch of crap too. There was some gumming so i wonder if someone added the wrong brake fluid at some point

I've purchased numerous MC off Ebay and modified the perch to fit different
bikes... I like the OEM KTM / Brembo with reservoir and Heim ball bearing...

OEM is a worthy upgrade... the knock offs offered by Uncle Chan are cheaper but they are a little rough...
