Re: rear view helmets?

Any crash test report on these? The thought of having an imprint of the camera on my head after a crash does bring down the "bling" factor a bit! :teeth

A Rear View Helmet . . .

I went to the DMV to register my bike today. The person who helped me, who also was a motorcycle enthusiast, told me about this helmet that you can see from the rear.

Just thought I post this to see if any Barfers had looked into this and their thoughts. I haven't seen it yet, but if the claims are as stated, maybe we can get rid of our rearview mirrors!

Check it out here:

What, does it have a HUD on the visor? Pretty cool...by I can imagine it being a distraction if it is on all of the time. Perhaps they simply have a mechanism to turn it on when you need to look.

I think it's pretty innovatuvv...innovatev.....neato....!!!!

it's all mirrors man...

There was a little write up at webbikeworld.com (which is a nifty site on it's own).
I contacted them about 6 months ago, and they didn't think it'd be coming over here for a while because of DOT and SNELL testing. I think they said '06.

But who knows, maybe that's changed.

I have run across that helmet before. I dunno, just more crap to run power connections for.
You can take my mirrors after you pry'em from my cold dead hands.:teeth

That would be sweet for watching your ass at a stoplight, sometimes I forget to wait till a car pulls up behind me to check.

cool concept. but is it THAT hard to occasionally look from side to side and into both mirrors?

spidey

Not really but my Jacket is puffy and warm (winter jacket thing) and sometimes I can't see crap outta my mirrors except my jacket. I like the concept!

FINALLY!!! I've been so looking forward to trying one of those helmets out.

That helmet is worthless without bluetooth.
