I have been looking for someone who is set up to load .300 win mag. I have several boxes of brass. They are close to a dollar a round these days.
I had a little trouble running reloads through my early Glock .45. I put in a stronger firing pin spring( that Glock added later) and have not had trouble since.

I reload .300 Win Mag on a single-stage -- my shoulder can't take shooting .300 WM in bulk, so 40 or 60 rounds at a time on a single-stage is no big deal! Get a Lee classic press for $100 or so, the Lee dies for another $25, and you are good to go -- you'll recoup the cost in probably 250 rounds.

I use my single-stage for all of the stuff that I don't shoot a lot of at one sitting -- .300 WM, .300 Savage, 7.62x54R, 7.5x55, 8x56R, 8x57, and .303, and .45 Colt. All of my bulk brass -- 9mm, .45 ACP and .223 -- is sitting around waiting until I pull the trigger (so to speak) on a progressive press...

That's just it, I don't have 250 bucks for ammo OR for a reloading set up.

A single stage will cost you far less than 250 bucks:

I've loaded thousands of rounds over the years with this same kit that I bought at a gun show a decade or more ago.

The die's aren't expensive either:

That's the full-length sizing die, you may want a neck die later if you are shooting from a single bolt gun to help the brass last longer.

You only need to spend more if you want a progressive press.

primers bulets and powder are about as hard to find as factory ammo. I have shot almost 2000 rounds of Miwall in .40 and .45acp and havent had a single problem yet, no FTF no ejection problems nothing. I also have a progressive loader at home that im just setting up and should have a couple hundred rounds done by sat:teeth

I'd rather run brass cased reloads through my Makarov than steel cased new rounds. (Although those don't really harm it either)

Factory's good for making once fired brass :p

Obviously comfortable with my own loads, I'd be willing to shoot someone else's if I trusted them.

I do factory only, but just cause I'm lazy. I'm not very trusting of reloads either. I'll shoot them through my Rugers cause they're built like tanks, but nothing else. But if you're reloading yourself, go for it.

Damn barf admins, to the Sink! :laughing

i coulda swore i was posting in the sink. :|

anyway seems like alot of people are reloading their own rather than going w unknown reloads which was what i was wondering.

so next question: who's going to reno this weekend? :laughing

shawn, the opposite seemed to be true from people i talked to re: glocks being able to accept reloads. don't own 1 myself so i couldn't say. last time tried a rental and it seemed fine as well w the reloads though IIRC it didn't feed once in my session.

Thank the lord...for a second there I thought someone was referring to retreaded tires!

If such a thing exists for motos...which I hope not.

Actually, there are. I think it's the Tomahawk brand that are retreads.

Now for the ammo question. Reloads for the range and factory for home and cycled out yearly. Gotta keep the ammo fresh for the hamburgulars.:sniper

+10 Lee or Hornady you can't go wrong with.
Yeah, except now I hear that primers, brass, powder, and bullets are getting scarce too:mad
I heard that too. I also hear that they are going to ration the gun shows. The last show you had to wait in line for an hour to buy the powder. Now they are going to ration it :( I will be glad when this panic blows over.
