Removing smog equiptment

Oh yeah I suppose you should keep that ol exhaust system and just bolt it on when needed. Did that for a street legal dirt bike.
 
yeah i'd rather have tougher restrictions on my car and leave the bike out of the whole smog issue.

Problem is that it's not entirely up to you. It will be voted in by the non-riding, sportbike-hating, uninformed majority. Smog stations probably will not be removing gas tanks to check smog equipment, but stranger things have happened.

And it's pretty hard to be opposed to cleaner air, especially if we hardly have to sacrifice anything to have it.

BTW, what's this "grandfather clause" I keep seeing references to? As far as I know, it's already illegal to remove emissions equipment. They just don't check it every two years. There will be no amnesty for those who remove it prior to the implementation of the biannual inspection.
