My wife and I rode two weeks from Reno up into British Columbia and Alberta this summer, and this leg was the best of the whole trip.
Started with a run north of Revelstoke up BC-23 to Mica, through BC's inland rainforest. Almost no traffic, no towns, just the road and the Columbia River for miles. Next day we headed east and got absolutely hammered crossing Rogers Pass. Zero visibility, rain gear soaked through, the works. Cleared up by Golden, and by the time we got to Lake Louise it was worth every wet mile.
Following morning we ran the Icefields Parkway from Canmore up to Jasper. It lives up to everything you hear about it. The Athabasca Glacier comes right down to the road at the Columbia Icefield.
Great ride. Actually, not just great, a bucket list ride.
