An accident on state Highway 1 near Año Nuevo State Reserve on Saturday afternoon left a motorcyclist and a bicyclist with major injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision, on Highway 1 at Rossi Road around 4:50 p.m., involved a 44-year-old San Jose man riding a Suzuki motorcycle and a 26-year-old Daly City man on a Fuji bicycle.

There were two bicyclist vs motorcyclist accidents along SR1 that afternoon.

I won't be surprised if the bicyclist was in the middle/ left part of the lane around a curve, causing the whole thing. Damn bicyclists, think they own the road anywhere they go...

I was making a blind sweeping right hand corner on pescadero once and right at the end of the corner in the middle of my lane there was a bicyclist stopped answering his cellphone. I nearly took him down but luckily I didn't. Stupid as the bicyclist was to have stopped in the middle of the road in the blind corner, I think if I had hit him it would have totally been my fault! Am I wrong?

I wouldn't be one bit surprised either.

I also wouldn't be surprised if the motorcyclist was at fault, seeing as how I know nothing about either person, their skill level, their riding habits, etc. :twofinger

Bicyclists are finding new ways of idiocy... Last Saturday when coming through Marshal Petaluma road I came through a blind corner to find a bicyclist STANDING in the middle of the road taking a picture of his moron friends who were gathered on the side. Un-believe-able!

(and I am a bicyclist myself fyi, so my motivation is not to bag on all bicyclists)
 
I came around a blind corner in Marin once and encountered 3 bicyclists riding abreast in my lane taking up the whole road. :wtf There were damn lucky that I wasn't a car coming around that corner fast and unable to stop in time!

But, we don't know what the circumstances are here. I was riding my bicycle along Alhambra Valley rd and some asshole on a motorcycle buzzed by less than a foot away when there was nobody else on the road and I was all the way over on the right.

True. But I don't think there is many of us that would blindly defend a motorcyclist with out knowing more facts about the accident. They may or may not be the minority of bicyclists but it really shows the level of common sense of velo philes
