Ride In Paradise Harpo. Lost friends to cancer and it's a horrible disease. Know some that cus of health problems ended it on their on terms.
Life is hard and life is fast, you better enjoy it cause it won't last.

Damn, thats sad to hear. I remember riding with him at Berryessa 24-25 years ago and I always admired his kind spirit and speed. He was always the "Fast guy" I wanted to be like one day.

memorial ride went excellent. much riding was had, "no tickets, no crashes = good ride", great lunch at Barney's Burger.
about a dozen people give or take, some only did the ride, some only did the lunch - but all shared memories of how awesome of a guy Joe was.

I think Im too long gone from Oakland to have known Harpo.

It sound like he definitely had a life well-ridden.
You honor his memory well.

I remember him from a few track days. I think it was a Button Willow track day sponsored by Lance and Hare Racing where Harpo was set up next to us. I rode B group so we were not in the same sessions as he was A group, so I didn't really talk to him much.

It sucks when you get to your 50s because so many people you know or knew start dying off. RIP Harpo.
