I'm pulled over to let my adrenaline drop after what I just saw
I was heading south on 680. I saw a plume of smoke in the distance on the other side of the freeway. A yellow possibly sportbike flew through the air, high enough for me to fear it was going to jump the freeway barrier. A black car was also spinning out of control and had impact damage. I glanced behind me and saw a fireball plume.

Best wishes to the rider and everyone involved. I'm gonna hang out in this parking lot for a bit.

Two CHP had someone pulled over down the road. I expect they got there pretty quick.

23109--Speed contest or Racing

Hopefully all innocent parties are okay.

Looks like 2 riders racing at high speeds. All bad.

Home now. Got my composure back.

I was cruising down 680S when I saw a plume of dust on the northbound lane. I've seen accidents happen on the other side of the freeway before, so I had a good idea of what was going on. I kept watching as I approached and saw vehicle pieces flying through the air. I saw a big chunk that I first thought was a bumper, then thought it was an engine block, until I realized it was a motorcycle with the front end ripped off. It was probably 5-6 feet off the ground and heading my general direction.

My adrenaline shot up as I realized I may be taking evasive action if it jumped the divide. It landed back on the same side, and I expect that bike was the one in the center in the CHP dispatch. I just got a quick glance, and with the front ripped off it was hard to tell the bike. Looked yellow and possibly like a GSXR.

I kept watching and saw a black sedan spinning out, facing the opposite direction. At this point I passed the collision, so I took a glance back and saw a large fireball erupt on the right shoulder. After that I was too far ahead to see anything else.

The adrenaline had my hands shaking, so I pulled over at the next available exit to calm down.

Holy shit...Hope who survives heals up.

To think I take 680 every few days from walnut creek to pleasanton. Today I had the choice to do it early or around 5....really glad I came down early now, and decided against going back.

Fatal could have been someone trapped in the car, haven't been able to get ahold of someone working

Just passed it an hour ago. Looks nasty.

Chp log indicates another wrong way driver. Ugh. Was just thinking of Tharkun's close call as I passed 780.

:rip to whoever died. Best wishes to all others, including the responders and witnesses.
