Run? Swim? Bike? It's the Triathlon / Multisport thread!

Kick some ass Joel - looking forward to reading a race report from ya!

You're probably at the end of your taper - feeling pretty strong right now?

Yup. I've been taking it easy this past week, staying loose and hydrated.

I've been feeling mostly nervous and anxious, which I've been told is expected for anyone's first IM.

Just want to get it started at this point. Race goal is to just finish smiling.

How long did it take you to train?

Pretty much all year.
5 triathlons (3 oly, 2 half-iron distance).
1 marathon.

2008 totals:
Bike = 145h, 1129 Mi
Run = 56h, 312 Mi
Swim = 109h, 188660 yd

And I still don't think it was enough. :D

Wow Joel. I've got three years before my goal of finishing a full IM. I figure 2009 and 10 will be my training years. Best of luck to you my friend :)

Thanks, everyone.

And, yes, it's official. I am an Ironman. :)

14 hours and some change. Next one is Ironman Canada in August.

Kick ass Joel. Congrats!

Hope to hook up with ya at an event next year sometime. Or a road bike ride even sooner than that!

Bump for the Xterra Del Valle race next month. April 20th the fees go up.

I am going to race the sprint. Not in good enough shape right now for the long course which has over 4K feet of climb.

That hill in the middle of the Run Course looks brutal :)

You ever get your hands on one of those sub 20 lb hardtails to even up the playing field?

Anybody else thinking of DelValle? I'm on the fence, but the cross-training would do me good.

You racing AM or XC?:)

XC, AM sold out in minutes I heard.

I should do a lot better this year in XC, trying to do that course with a 45lb bike is just pure misery. It sucks I will have to take it easy going down the hill, but the climb up should be a lot easier.

You should do it.

What happened to all the budding triathlete's we had here last year??
Seems like the Folsom lake races got some attendence, and this one is so close, I thought more people would be all over this.
