Sacramento Semi-Fancy Restaurant Recommendation?

The only restraunt I remember dining at in Sac was the Firehouse. There were 20+ of us. I had surf and turf and it was very good. Cocktails were good. Wine was good. Service was great. I'd recommend it.

Scott's has another location on Riverside Blvd between Sutterville and Fruitridge Rd. Nice views of the river. Tapa the World is very good although not real fancy. Folks are dressed from formal to casual. GREAT house red!

Yeah, the Scott's at the old La Rivage hotel (i don't know the name of the new hotel) wasn't impressive. Also, for an anniversary, I'd probably skip any hotel-restaurant, it jut doesn't feel the same to me. (The Grange is good, though Just not that romantic feeling I think he's looking for.)

I really enjoy Paul Martins American Bistro. They are in Roseville. They are not that expensive. (Wife and I spend around $80-100+tip) But they have excellent food. All of their food comes from within 100 miles of the restaurant.

I'm only a couple of miles away from the "new" Scott's and have wanted to try it out for a while but maybe not now. Haven't gone to the Fair Oaks location in many years but it was good back then. Too bad they couldn't keep a good thing going.

The melting pot is an excellent dining experience. The food is tasty and it is a nice long intimate dinner because of how you cook the food yourself at the table. The chocolate fondue at the end of your meal is to die for.

Joe's Crab Shack. One could drop a couple hunnert there if they wanted.

Seriously? I'd go there if I wanted to throw down drinks with old College buddies...not for anything even remotely nice with a significant other.

If you really wanted to be on the River, Rio City Cafe is nice; but, as many have already said, the Firehouse is outstanding. You're in the thick of old Sac and can go on a walk along the river after dinner. Make sure to make a trip to their Wine Cellar, too.

Out in old Folsom, Sutter Street Steakhouse is very good and has a great view of the river and the bridges. You also get the bonus of a walk in old Folsom afterwards.
