Sand Hill Adut-mini bike selection help, please

I think I may wait just a little longer, sell a few more goodies and get a crf250.

From my younger days and 5 years of mini-roadracing I worked on plenty of two strokes and have done a few top ends. I was kinda hoping I could apply that knowledge to my new bike but I also don't want something that's going to hurt me. A four stroke sounds like it's the way to go and if I get a crf I can get some sm wheels and a brake and have a fun toy to Stockton as well.

I registered for t.t. a long time ago but kinda forgot about it. Wasted a lot of time on it last night though. :thumbup

Anyway, I was thinking about something like this.

or this.

Those both link to the same bike. That yzf looks like a great deal though.

If you want to ride right away, you should be able to pick up a 90's two stroke very cheap and get every penny back from when selling it to get something like that 250f. My girlfriend is on a mini right now and wants to move up to a 125. I was looking around yesterday for bikes for her and found this. It looks like a good deal and I'm sure I could get my money back if she didn't keep it.

check this site out, its all flat track bikes from all over the US. If u wanted a mini theres a sick ttr125 all set up for flattrack with a 150cc kit and pipe and other stuff. Its located in the 209 area code. Just scroll down alittle and you will see it. Theres alot of other nice bike to, but not very many located in cali

Sand Hill is about going out and having fun. There are no trophies and no girls to give you the trophy at the end of a session. The best you can hope for is you dont f#*k up and Phil yells at you for riding in the pits with no helmet.

Buy a bike you can afford and go enjoy yourself. Just like everywhere there are guys faster and slower than you.

^ That's exactly what got me fired up about the place to start with. I think after reading some of the posts and talking to several people I'm going to skip out on the mini class and go for something like an older yz250f. I think if I get the larger bike it's going to be something I can use for a lot of things whereas, if I get a mini it won't be as much fun at Hollister, Carnegie, etc..
Initially I was concerned about being out in the larger displacement group
but it sounds like it's not so bad. I just want to go ride and have fun on a Friday night. Meet some new friends and see old ones. Beats hanging around the house on a Friday right?

Thanks to everyone for the advice and help.
Also, that's a great site I didn't know about Adam, it's bookmarked. :thumbup
