Do I have to sound like an inbred hillbilly when I wear the uniform? He did a great job of making the Speed coverage virtually unwatchable.

As bad as SR is, Ralph and Greg are probably even worse commentary-wise. He's like our Jamie Whitam, but even harder to understand at times

He's the guy that sounds like Huckleberry Hound from the old cartoons, that announces on some of the AMA races on TV.

He sounds more like Boomhauer from King of the Hill to me.

I'll still take him over Ralph Sheheen any day.

When Scott tried both the lower end and higher end bibs and there was no comparisn, the higher end stuff was much more comfortable, so that's what he went with...any of the higher end bibs are that much...

You can get a standard jersey and non bibs for about $110....

Did he try to wear them over the top of his overalls? That could be the problem.

it was funny, being at NOLA's inaugural AMA Pro event -

Q - what were the circumstances of Whitham's retirement?

A: He retired because of glaucoma affecting his vision (possibly as a result of chemo he had for Hodgkins Lymphoma).

I have no problem with Whitham (but I'm British). I very rarely watch AMA, but when I have feel that Scott "Sling Blade" Russell needs subtitles.

Scott Russell makes any race he is commentating on way more exciting. In fact, it was his commentary that drew my friends in enough to watch an entire race.

It was only after I found out he was "Mr. Daytona." Now I have nothing but mad respect.
