I was riding on Central Expressway today in Santa Clara going towards Sunnyvale. In opposing traffic there was another fellow rider. I gave him the usual wave and he did something else... he patted his head (helmet) 3 times. I thought he was warning me of a cop but I never passed one. Was this a signal of some sort and does anyone know what it meant?

Also I am curious to know if there is some sort of language between motorists? Maybe some signals?

Ya can't rule out that the head tapper saw a cop...and during the brief time after the head tapper saw the cop...and then saw You..the cop left the place that he had been seen in.

Not to brag or anything, but it takes me a LOT more than three taps.

The first two taps were, "Cop ahead. Beware."

The last tap was, "BTW, if I see you again; let's say at a bar. I'm going to buy you a drink. We'll talk and have a good time. We'll talk about our bikes and bench race. We'll look at all the hawt chicks in the bar and have an all around good time. Then, when you least expect it, I'm going to chloroform you and tap dat ass"
