honda shadow 1100 ACE
Hey All!!

I need some advice with my bike- 1100 shadow 1996 ace. Iv'e been riding for years on all bikes- sport to custom, but 2 years ago I had a little skid on the bay bridge, nothing really happened to the bike b/c I was not driving fast, but ever since my wife was against me riding it.. Right after the accident I took it to the garage, it only needed a new left side mirror, but I also did the whole oil things, and changed rear tire. Anyways, to the point: it has been standing for almost 2 years now, and I want to get it started again. I don't know if I will sell it, but I do want to get it running and make it look good just like it was before. What should I do? I know I need to take the carborator apart and clean it, but is there any way around it? I also know I need to flush out the gas, and change oil again, anything else I should know about? I will appreciate ideas and some experience here, so if you got anything- shoot.

Thanks! :thumbup

Change the oil, drain the gas from the tanks and from the carbs. Then fill with new oil, and fuel and run a can of seafoam through it. Maybe even flush the coolant.

Yes you will need to take the carbs apart. No amount of sea foam or other crap you pour in is gonna unclog the pilot circuit.
