BARF heads up this way each year with Ms two wheel tramp’s venerable HoHo Rally in Weaverville every August, and the Redding Dirt Riders do a dual-sport rally that starts in the Chappie-Shasta OHV, so I’ve done a bunch of sections on this map, but the SBCL looks like a fun loop that strings everything together.

see what I can do with it in 2024 … :party

This looks fun!

Great loop in my backyard. I'm a Bunk a Biker host in Shingletown if anyone needs a place to stay

Mad

Nice, I was just through there on my Ducati and almost did the dirt road that goes around the east side of Mt Shasta, I think I'm glad I skipped it, but I was thinking that whole area seems like fun on a dual sport. Looks like it is!

Love that area. I used to strap my fly rod on the bike and explore all around there!

Man...I hope I can make HoHo in 2024!

:thumbup

the last eight years or so teh BARF HoHo Rally has been the backbone of my riding season … be super-cool to see you in Weaverville in 2024! :ride

I’ve incorporated a little fishing with my riding, recently, and had a pretty good year this year, considering I’m the world’s worst fisherman:

my ‘70s-vintage Orvis fiberglass convertible pack-rod, and 2000 KLR 650.

we were talking in General about our riding buddies fading away these days, and I was saying how I probably see more riders irl at this point in my riding career than when I was younger, thanks to rallies—and this was what I was talking about …

the top fish pic was Bungee Brent’s Backwoods Bash, the bottom fish pic was the End of Pavement Rally, the first pics in the thread were the HoHo Rally/Downieville Dayz, and Mr stratslinger77 and I started 2023 off at the n00bs Rally in Panamint/Death Valley with over 200 of our best internet riding buddies. :party

anyway, looking forward to trying to catch a fish up around Mt Shasta out of a river with a dry fly in 2024. :blah
