Years and years ago I saw a house where the guy had obviously just plugged in a string of Christmas lights into an outlet on the porch, and tossed the string at the railing. :laughing

Ah, so now it's a "show us the funny Christmas lights you've seen online" thread.

That's cool too, I guess.

it ain't much, but every ornament on this tree was either mine growing up or given to me by friends/family. I have never purchased an ornament.

Lasers at work.

Neighbor just gave me a compliment saying that must have taken a long time to put up all those lights. :laughing

Not sure where every ornament came from. Just know I did not hang them :p

I don't have the nighttime pictures, only the dusk ones. At night, the old school painted ceramic bulbs still look amazing. Before my grandmother passed, she gave me four strings and a bag for each color. They still work and I use them every single year.

Our tree is all given ornaments, with the exception of the ones we bought on vacation or to remember a certain trip.

My village is all due to my mom. She used to set up the most beautiful village every year and slowly started to pass things down to me. My Great-Uncle had such an elaborate village with multiple train sets that I would just sit and watch the action of the city he created under the tree.

I guess most of my decorations are a nod to my family. Makes missing so many holidays with them a little easier.

Mike.. very cool on the passed down ornaments! :thumbup

Damn... that had to take some work! :wow

Your post brought back memories of my Mom's nativity display.
Thanks for that.

The Santa on the roof is classic.:cool

We used to go to Christmas tree lane in Palo Alto as a family every year.
I might have to do that this year to capture a few more memories of my youth.
