Almost exactly 2 years ago I purchased a pair of Sidi Insiders from Revzilla. They're now ripping on the left boot where it laces up on the ankle. I contacted Revzilla first and they responded within an hour and I was impressed even though they suggested Motonation (parent company for Sidi).

So I've contacted Sidi a few times since my initial contact with Revzilla but no response. I'm curious if anyone on BARF has experience with defective items with Sidi and if they had a positive/negative experience. I did notice, however, that Sidi FAQ does say they only warranty footwear for one year but I'd think boots would last a while longer.

Anyway, thanks for reading.

I feel like 2 years out of a $100-150 riding shoe is not bad. Plus, if they state their warranty is 1 year I wouldn't bother contacting them trying to get anything from them.

2 years, they should last longer but you can't expect a manufacturer to warranty boots for that long. You're up shit creek without a paddle.

ah, no. I've had a pair of Sidi's for years, no problems. but 1 year is about as good as it gets. It's just recently that some MC manufacturers have gone past 1 year warranty on their bikes.

Thanks all. I think you all might be right that expecting any Sidi support after 2 years for casual riding boots is asking for a lot.

2x years???

My tcx srace is going on its 5th year. The sidi vortice i had before started to fall apart on its 2nd year.

I had oxstars before sidi which is tcx and they lasted 2+ years and were turned in for insurance claim.

I was lead by internet marketing and advertisement that sidi was the best. I dont think so at all now, gave up on them when replacement sole inserts were always out of stock for the vortices

Just a few days short of 2 years (Revzilla's great to track this). I think it's a lesson learned on boots from them. They weren't used everyday or abused which is why I'm surprised by how fast they wore out.

I have sidi boots with many years (OK, just 8) riding MANY miles. the only thing that broke were the zipper pulls. they are also hungry for new soles. I might need a 2nd resole.

'don't make them like they used to'?

The Insider shoe is part of the Sidi Design Series line. Products in the S.D.S. line are designed by Sidi but manufactured by outside suppliers. That's why you are experiencing durability issues.

If you buy a real Sidi boot, actually manufactured by Sidi in Italy, you will get a product that will last a long time as you expect from the premium motorcycle footwear manufacturer that Sidi is.

I have both and like both about the same.

My oxtars took the brunt when I was commuting daily, they were more comfortable on-bike, the sidi's were more comfortable (for me) walking around.
