Some interesting tid bits I ran across...

This looks like a hot mess.

The Street 750 falls short on quality. The wiring is a complete mess and is exposed at multiple places.
Some wires don't even have wraps around them, like around the horn and the rear master cylinder, you can see yellow and red wires.

There is no fuel meter, time, distance to empty on the Street 750's console.

Tall riders are going to look reDONK on it

The Street 750 uses specially developed tyres for India, which are MRFs.
Made in India bikes which will be exported will use Michelin rubber.
Some components on the Street 750 are sub-par like the Endurance brakes. The brakes itself lack enough stopping power.

That looks like shit.

Is there any room at all for a passenger on that?

Are they really going to export that garbage over here?

Entry level bikes. Go figure. I think the overall size is to better instill confidence in new riders. AFAIK being able to touch the ground with both feet is a major selling point made by Harley salesmen.

They seem to be keeping the build quality up to par with the domestic ones. Consistency is difficult to achieve in international manufacturing: go Harley!

I like it. Then again I could care less about exposed wiring, and I could hide or wrap wiring myself if it bothered me. Fuel gauges have always been worthless, that's what the trip meter or odometer is for. As long as the price is right, I would rock it. :ride

Wait... This a new bike... Fail HD.

:cool

congrats to harley, they built themselves a suzuki marauder....

:laughing

Reminds me of one of the early Hypermotard photos that showed the product manager riding a prototype. Everybody thought "whoa, that bike is HUGE' not knowing the guy was like 5'0". :laughing

My understanding is that the Streets destined to be sold in the US will be made in the US.

This isn't a $16k Dyna/Softail. It's a bike made for a price point less than half that. Corners will be cut.

Everything I've read about it is that the Revolution X engine is solid but the rest of the bike is pretty hosh posh junk.

If you are a new rider and want a genuine H-D, you're still better off just coming up with another 500-1000 bucks and just getting the tried and true Sportster 883.

Yes exactly.

If you're going to buy this over the sportster, might as well save some coin and get a Honda Shadow or something.

But then again, many people who buy Harleys don't follow simple logic. :thumbup

I hear they're making a winter version dubbed the "Harley Himalayan" for the adventurous types...

I'm sorry to see this, it seemed like a really good idea for Harley to put out a couple of bikes like this. The fact that they cut corners and rushed this thing out speaks volumes on the corporate culture at Harley Davidson. They keep this shit up and they will return to the AMF days.

It's really sad because this could have been a real winner for them if they could have come out with something as nice as the Indian Scout on a smaller displacement motorcycle.
