So what are you "known for" by your coworkers?

Thought this would make an interesting topic.

So most of the time when we think of someone, it's usually by what they do for a living. "Oh yeah, Rob the mechanic...that guy" or something like that. But what if we remove the occupational association? Since many if not all of them are all in the same business as you, they have to use another association to remember you by.

So what's your reputation at work?

Me? I'm pretty much known as the guy who eats a ridiculous amount of junk food yet somehow doesn't get fat. Always has cookies and soda in my toolbox. Having a three scoop sundae from Baskin Robbins for lunch would not be surprising. Would probably have a seizure if someone fed me a vegetable. You get the idea.

I'm the funny one. I encourage coworkers to leave early sometimes. I'm the one who'll get off the phone and say "eat a bag of Dicks." I'm also the one who hands out raises!

And, importantly, I bring the milk for our coffee and have snacks for the technicians. It keeps one of them from getting hangry. :)

Don't ask Fred unless you can handle the truth :laughing

Smart. Cranky. Team player, not. An ass. Sorryz. I know it. I give a shit, really I do. A little.

I work somewhere else, it's different. Smart funny nice. Is it me?? dunno.

This sounds more like what *I* think my coworkers think of me.

Maybe you should ask them.

It is an interesting subject, how one is perceived as opposed to how one actually is.

hahaha +1 to this. I've held a number of positions and if there's one thing I learned is that you never REALLY know what your coworkers think of you unless you ask them straight up. There's always bickering about something behind someones back.

The higher up the ladder you are, the more ass kissing and less straight answers you get from your "subordinates", but in actuality, they prob hate you for some reason or another. :laughing. :thumbup

For me... I've usually been known as the guy who is too laid back / easy going.

for not being afraid to stick 'it' to the man...when he's not around!:laughing

Scary biker guy that management sends and makes me sign scary things.

One of my coworkers used to call me "useless". Then one day she was trying to do something to one of our systems and couldn't figure it out. I showed her how to do it. After that she started calling me "mostly useless".

"Don't fuck with that guy." :cool

The crazy one that doesn't fit the corporate image. I am sort of famous in my office for sending a particular email to the entire company, known as "the best email ever sent", in regards to the naming of our new network. That one got me written up the day after I received (an unheard of) bonus for doing great work. My career has never been the same :(

I bake for my coworkers. I've done cookies, pies, and bagels.on various occasions and people always love free food.

I have no idea. I have minimal interaction with my co-workers unless it's something they need from me or I a form them. Probably not good for a long term career progress.

"A walking HR nightmare" is something I hear a lot, though I don't quite agree.
