Any particular reason you guys get your fix on at the 'bucks? Is location and access to certain routes a major factor? Are Starbucks generally really easy to find?

cause i know for damn sure it aint the coffee:cry

I don't buy from Starbucks, nor do I hang out at any. The only time I ever visit one is typically for a few minutes before leaving on a group ride.

It used to be the coffee for me ...that's before they switched over to machines. I can't stand that sugary piss they make now. You have to ask for a quad-shot of espresso in your macchiato in order to actually taste coffee.

I've given bux thousands of dollars over the years. I've been driving to a project in Pittsburgh recently. There are at least 6 bux along the way.

:rofl sugary piss? if you want to taste coffee you'd be safe to go with regular drip coffee rather than your sugar rush macchiato.

Used to go the *$ on market/beale street, but then I tried the peets over on market/main and never went back to *$ anymore. Peets is so much better, the lines are longer, but the hot asian women around there is good eye candy :nerd

it's consistant. Like McDonald. Every one you go to you are sure to get the same shit. like McDonalds.

I spent $450 on a LaPavoni machine a few years ago. i think i am many dollars ahead...

It's where all tha hot beezy's are at yo! Gosta floss my sandpapered tires and parking lot scraped knee pucks somewherez mang.

If you want to TASTE coffee...go to the AM/PM! Works as chain and engine degreaser too! :)

I'll only go to a Starbucks if they're the only option available. They've put so many mom and pop coffee shop operations out of business, it's not funny. 'Don't like their corporate ethic. Between Starbucks and a mom and pop shop, I'll give my business to the mom and pop shop every time.

I worked for Starbuck's for a year. Their 'corporate ethic' includes extensive benefits, including health, dental, and vision care, for even hourly baristas. How many 'mom and pop' stores treat their employees half as well?

As far as quality goes - like anywhere else, you get a good drink there if the barista cares, and a lousy one if he/she doesn't.

I can't stand their coffee, just prefer to make my own at home. Though they do make a decent Chai and iced tea.

I had to go to Orinda the other day. It has a population of 17,000. It's 12 square miles. And there are THREE Starbucks. THREE. One on either side of 24 and one in the f'g Safeway. Reminds me of the Onion article, "Starbucks Opens Starbucks Inside of Starbucks." http://www.theonion.com/content/node/29030

I got no use for Starbucks OR Orinda (except to get to Bear Valley Road).

I'm sure many would like be able to do that. They just can't afford it but that's a whole other topic.

Not even the case. It all ended when they stopped making coffee by hand.

Well, to be fair i do patronize the bucks when its convenient. My sister used to be a barrista, and Starbucks seem to treat their emloyees fair enough. But given the choice for good coffee to drink with a crew or your buddies...Starbucks just doesnt come to mind.:dunno

I like to support small businesses...

When McDonalds and Homedepot and Target and Petsmart and Wallmart and Starbucks put all the Mom & Pop shops outta business, life will be just so .. white bread. Homogeneous. Boring. And it's hard to bring it back.

+1 At Starbux you're always assured of mediocrity.:rolleyes
