Sound Limit @ T-hill?

I recently got popped for sound at T-Hill.

GSXR 750, stock motor, stock header with a Leo Vince slip-on was at 107 DB on an overcast day with the wind coming out of the south east at about 10 mph.

That exact same exhaust mounted to a 750 has done about 50 days at T-Hill in the past 3 years and was never popped for sound.

They are clamping down, thankfully I had my stock can that I use for Laguna.... put that on and all was fine.

I think the humidity right after lunch exacerbated the sound dings.

Sucks...race tracks and sound limits limit the viability of the tracks. Middle of nowhere. Welcome to laguna in the 80's.

06 R6. ...

I saw the R and the 1 for the 01 and thought you listed a R1 in your profile. Guess I suffer from a bit of dyslexia :toothless

But 110 is a good bit over. Luckily other exhaust options for the 06+ R6 aren't hard to find :thumbup

I just ordered an insert for my outrageously loud 2 bros pipe... it's supposed to drop the db's down below 103 without a noticable drop in performance...for $35.
Might be an option for others.

Ya, I think it's one rancher who says his cows won't give milk. But, they are all steers.

OMFG .... I Love you guys ... You guys are hilarious down here .. the fricken WMRRA dudes are so Uptight ..iof we talk like this up there we get PM'd warnings and shit ..WMRRA is the "DONT YOU DARE TELL A JOKE" clan ...:rofl:rofl

And I was always in trouble up there cause I LOVE TO TALK SHIT ..but really Im a very humble dude

I think we should put ear plugs in his cows ears and then sue him for the extra output in milk they make and the money he makes off it.

But yes, I'm not a fan of sound limits but 103dB is silly loud. Laguna on the other hand, that place don't get my money....

I got stopped twice at Thunderhill a few weeks ago on my 06 GSXR 600 with a two brothers shorty....I was at 109 db:teeth...
Swapped out the stock pipe for Laguna this month but made a baffle at work for the two bros....Have to put it on and see where the noise level is at.
109....Thats freakin nuts.
a1scoot:cool

I was meatballed last Monday in the second session after lunch on the RC8.

I was told by un-named sources to mod the pipe to simply point the exhaust tip left instead of right and that nearly anything will pass (even cars) if you point it left at thill.

so how do they do the readings?
as you blast by a spot on the track?
in the pits?
in a building?
distance from bike to meter?
up, down, left, right?
not sure about my exhaust but it is not all that loud. would not pass a fed limit of 80 db's at any rpm above idle. (my meter at 8-10 feet to the rear of the bike level).
