Step aside, Bud Light, Modelo Especial is the beer of choice in America!

My mother-in-law asked "why aren't domestic beers selling more here in America?"
How do I answer this?

:laughing

You say, "not my beer bucket, not my beer".

Only in the US apparently - the rest of the world InBev owns them. Ironically, in Mexico guess who distributes A-B? :laughing
Wiki says.
On June 12, 2008, The Wall Street Journal stated that Anheuser-Busch InBev, which owned a non-controlling 50% stake in the company, might attempt to acquire the remaining 50%.[3] On June 29, 2012, it was announced that Anheuser-Busch InBev would acquire the remaining 50% stake for an all-cash price of $20.1 billion.[4] On January 31, 2013, the US Department of Justice filed an antitrust suit in an attempt to prevent the buyout. The matter was settled, and the two companies merged in June 2013,[5] with the transfer of all United States rights to Constellation Brands.[6] As a result, all the company's brands are made (in Mexico) by an unrelated company. In the United States, Grupo Modelo brands are distributed by Constellation Brands.
:wtf

I can't say what I want to say about this arrangement in this forum. :laughing

To show my disloyalty to the US, I mostly drink Irish Whiskey, with ginger ale when I'm feeling light

Bud would be smart to bring back several of its older campaigns (Frogs, "no, I said bud light", Wasssuuup) and use the actual ads from back then, redigitized.

I can PM you the answer if you wish :twofinger

Hahaha!

Like Dunlop moto tires.

The surgical nurse rushed into the operating room and handed the proctologist a can of beer. NO he said, I asked for a butt light.

I don't understand brand loyalty in beer. I really don't.

After living in Europe for five years I came home and tried most of the brands offered. I was looking for something that didn't have that nasty after taste when the chill left the beverage.

They all had the same bitter, offensive aftertaste. Then my son-in-law did the 'brew at home' thing in five gallon paint buckets. Was as good as the German stuff I remembered. (Way to go John!)

Bud Light was some of the most offensive in taste, I don't get the outrage or loyalty. I really don't.

Most shitty beer like bud lite is fine if it's ice cold. They all have their place.

AB marketing had one job, sell product, they were very good at it.
Current marketing is not US based, more Euro in feel, less flag waving.
And with that, more diversity in reaching customer loyality.

Will Budlight survive? New recipe? They started with corn, switched to rice, what next?

Bid Light will be fine. they *fell* from number 1 to number 2, great, they are still the number 2 best selling beer (despite tasting like pisswater TBH)

Nike, Gillette, and other companies who similarly received a lot of rage for 'woke' advertising all went through a few chaotic months and then were just fine.

Sure, Bud man has been woke since 1973, you can tell by the rainbow. :laughing

(I thought I was going to have to do some photoshop or something to make this joke. Nope, it was like the 3rd result on google.)

Maybe Budman had an influence as to the rainbow being adopted by the gay community.

I had to look :laughing

The rainbow flag was popularized as a symbol of the gay community by San Francisco artist Gilbert Baker in 1978. The different colors are often associated with "diversity" in the gay community (but actually have literal meanings).

You can also tell by the way he puts his pronoun out there. (he, him, his)

Before 1973 he was known as Bud Person.
