Stoner returns to Ducati!

I do not think that was a factor. The speculation is he was bothered by being under utilized, didn't like being passed over for PedoBear's replacement and MM didn't trust his input.

Stoner. No doubt an awesome rider.

You guys think he wanted to race as a replacement?? Highly doubt it.

Ducati offered the secret squirrel big bux. Plus pasta vs. sushi!! I am going pasta. :laughing

That title caught me off guard. I was thinking something else :smoking

I'm glad to see he's back. No one rode a Ducati like that dude.

I really wish the stupid Suzuka thing had not happened. There was a chance, if that had gone well, that he might actually come back to screw with MM, et al. Oh well. I hope he actually races a couple of times. The guy should still make an impact. He is that good.

Stoner was actually pretty pissed that they wouldn't let him replace Pedrosa for a race or two while he was sitting out.

Full time? No... But as a wildcard or replacement for a race or two? He damned sure wanted to. Keep in mind that he raced Suzuka, and probably would have won, had Honda's bike not tried to kill him via mechanical failure.

i read something on r/motogp a few months ago about how stoner was threatening to leave his test role at honda because HRC denied his request to wildcard at PI this year even after stoner pulled the "you owe me for the f- up at 24hrs@ suzuka" and they still said no. i never wouldve dreamed that he would go back to ducati. its like if ike and tina turner got back together.

i also find it odd how honda are putting so much emphasis on Rea as the possible future when he wasnt super impressive on the bike when he subbed for pedo. you'd think they would be still trying to wine dine and sixty nine casey, because ultimately, thats all casey wants, to have as much power in the box as rossi has at yam.

I guarantee moaners gonna have more then 1 wildcard appearance in motogp16

Well duck me so when Dovi goes nutso were going to see Casey:banana

Stoner is a GREAT rider. Moaner aside. The dude rips like few others.

And I cannot name any of the few.

My take. They did not want Casey to show up wonder child or pedrobot.

what? Nakamoto dont give a shit about WSBK and Rea on the Kawi.

My take, too. The way CS can jump on an unfamiliar bike and set pole records is quite remarkable. He might have embarrassed some big-wigs at Honda, and we know that is a no-no, particularly with Honda.

HRC leaked Stoner's times and he was off the pace. sure, it was only testing. but even Rossi, who dont give a shit about practice, isnt slower than Bradley when asked to put in a hot lap during pre/post season tests.

honda has had a hard on for rea since like 2011.

like how they told him he was in line for a GP ride? or how they were going to make him a competitive bike for WSBK? Honda's hard-on for Rea was only a chubby at best. and now w/ him finally ditching Honda for Kawi, its gone totally flaccid :laughing

I have no idea what the fuck you are saying here. NONE. Off what pace? If you are talking about the first Spec Honda, there was no pace. He was the first rider. And I have ZERO idea what Rossi and Bradley have to do with HRC. :wtf

Need a Xanax or what? Damn.

He's saying that people who race in MotoGP, still, are not that far off the pace during testing. Rossi, who doesn't "do well" during practice still manages to stay on the pace. Yet, Stoner didn't.

I'm genuinely interested to see if stoner can be competitive in GP. With the 2016 electronics and new tires, I think there's a strong chance. Casey is very adaptive and will be on a page closer to to everyone else on the grid, due to the changes.

no, not the Proddy Honda. Stoner did testing for the 2015 RC213V to aid Marquez and Pedro. MM (iirc) reported that those times were leaked.

RightCoast explained the stuff about Rossi.
