Storm, Atmospheric river, latest update

I just looked up what "8"" of rain or "105 mm of rain" means. It sounds intuitive but depending on the width of the container, the level will clearly be different.

Well, just for extra trivia.

An inch of rain in Los Angeles is 1 trillion gallons. o_O

"Sometimes, I'm pretty sure I have absolutely no grasp on the scope of things."

It's raining, it's pouring, and my old man is snoring-so is the dog and even one of the cats. :zzz

Crazy, Richardson Bay is swirling.

2 7/8" in the past 24 hours here in the North Bay.

Wind wasn't too bad.

Hardly what I'd call an "OMG" event.

This thing is coming up from the south but it looks like there is a cold front chasing it.

patience, the rain you seek will arrive early next week.

I have ordered from Amazon (the biggest river system)
The Instant Lake, and the accessory Waterfall.
I have notified the office about the install already, they are good as long as Amazon supplies the water.
:rolleyes. :teeth

Added info, Talking about rain in California Valley, up to 3 inches due next week.
May, may be too far into the summer, for the Super Bloom, , ,

Super bloom was superb last year, I'll be happy to go check it out again this year.

SF flooded decently with the rain yesterday evening, might not be any poop on the streets for 24 hours or so.

dog poop, no, but that's actually a mistake to think so

I saw like 10 square feet or more of these "pebbles" near a drain or two, ... they must've flown out. Super annoying.

the thing is the system is combined, if it mixes with the sewer water, there maybe more poop overflow (like from regular houses) in periods of heavy rain.

Ahh, so a Shatmospheric River. Grody.

Should we adjust the thread title?? :laughing

Hah, well that is true, avoid the floodwaters, and also the beaches for a while.

Francisco Public Works clears a clogged storm drain at Franklin Street and Broadway that caused flooding Wednesday during heavy rainfall.

- this is only one intersection however. If I dig into personal videos from a few years back during worse rains... OMG there was some water out there. Once again, the pipes underneath overfill "once in many years"

So a total of 3 3/4 inches up here in my back yard.

Not exactly the North Bay getting "hammered" as the forecasters wanted.

Good news of course is Lake Sonoma is full.

Looks like Berryessa is still about 13ft away from the glory hole and only up 5ft from the beginning of November. Punxsutawney Phil says it's gonna be an early spring.

Just got back from my MIL's house on Sonoma Creek (El Verano). I thought it would be raging a lot more than it is. I've seen it go from the usual trickle (Foot deep) to 25 feet in a matter of days in the past. It's going good but only several feet deep at this point.

Yeah, lots of streets that cover what used to be mission creek and a few ponds tend to flood when the rain is heavy, even if the drains aren't clogged. You can still see the "creek" in the basement of the armory if they ever do tours again. Probably not as creepy down there as it used to be now though :laughing
