Stuck in South Bay

Hi everyone! I just recently moved to San Francisco and was exploring the new area when my bike suddenly broke down in downtown Redwood City. The chain has fallen off the sprocket and I’ve tried to realign it while pushing but it’s not holding. My bike is my only form of transportation, I need assistance with a tow in order to have it properly repaired.

If there’s anyone in the area who can help or knows someone, please let me know! I love Redwood City but I’m ready to go home.

:bump for rescue.

Note to Kelly. Get Triple AAA

Just saved me 84 bucks on new Sunglasses too.

As far as I know, there are still many local barfers subscribed to this thread.

I just cross posted your thread but I'd suggest popping in and saying hi.

I have AAA and have enquired but they unfortunately don’t cover motorcycle towing unless I upgrade my membership with them. Even after the upgrade, I have to wait seven days to use their services

That sucks man.

Hope rescue comes your way.

damn.

I'm curious to your sprocket/chain health/abuse/age/use/etc.

Atleast not a bad area to break down. PD is close by there with 2 locations. A lot of food options. etc. Good weather today all that.

Are you still stranded? I don't have or know of towing for moto in that area but if you need a ride I can help out.

Were you able to get home? I’m sorry no response in the other thread.

I texted last night and Kelly was able to get the bike to a local mechanic. I didn't hear anything after that so I am hoping and assuming they were able to get home safely.

glad OP got safe, also glad to have a new barfer and someone out exploring on 2 wheels

Redwood City isn't the south bay, it's mid-peninsula which doesn't make much difference really but for mayday calls it kinda does. so for next time and fingers crossed ti's not soon!

Hi everyone, everything was pretty hectic last night trying to work everything out but my bike has been towed to a very friendly and helpful mechanic in San Carlos, Anthony at JeniusBiker. I would really recommend checking him out if you're looking for a reliable and reasonably priced mechanic in the South Bay! Thank you so much for all the support from all of you, it was so nice to feel reassured by the community. I'll see you guys soon on the roads on two wheels ;)
