So timely. I was behind a guy this weekend by the house and he had one of the family-style Subarus with a rice rocket muffler on it. It was kind of a cognitive dissonance vibe. A hipster Subbie with a sewing machine muffler in the swamplands of LA where Subbies are a rarity.
 
I'd drive a Forester STI if I could afford one and it existed...

Sucks wagons are slowly dying in favor of poor handling SUVs no one actually needs. SUVs suck. The only exception is true SUVs that are body on frame, really just trucks with more seats.

my first gen honda crv has been the most useful car ive ever owned. its not fast, its not pretty and it handles like dogshit, but its dependable as all hell, 5spd manual, awd, has awesome cargo space, and its got enough power to tow a motorcycle. It also came with a card table in place of the inside spare tire.

aside from all that, id drive the hell out of a forrester sti

They did, just didn't make it to US. Available in Japan though!

Friend had a Forester XT and sold it for what he bought it for 3 years and 80k miles later. :wow
 
Are the high end subarus any nicer than the base model subarus? The road noise alone makes me regret purchasing the one i have. In their defense no mechanical issues in 80k miles or so (knock on wood) , it was relatively inexpensive, and it's roomy for the exterior dimensions. Dat noise tho... and the cup holder location

Alright yeah first Gen AWD manual CRVs are cool... that was before they got all fat and bloated...

That wagon is.. a Buick.. which I'd not be caught dead driving lol its 2020, can't believe Buick is still a thing.

There's nothing wrong with it. It's the Subaru marketing department putting on a flat cap, ripping a fat cloud off of their sub-ohmed vape rig, blowing a smoke ring with it and apologizing for courting soccer moms for the past decade and admitting they're still about the hoon life.
