Supermarket Sushi

Sure.

Still.

Sometimes mistakes are made.

A favourite burrito restaurant from the past used to offer a lobster burrito, the most delicious thing ever.
Wonder if there’s a market for a sushi burrito.
Hope I not giving away one of my best ideas with this :nchantr

Check your local Poke spots...

Sushi 'burritos' are a fad that mostly died out.

It's not a burrito. It's just a big sushi roll and usually not even that good. I've never had a sushi burrito that was any better than just getting a normal roll.

Damn that looks good

Could use more beans though

There used to be a burrito place in Santa Cruz that had a wide range of burrito fillings. My favorites were a Thai shrimp & chicken or a Mediterranean pork loin and goat cheese. Beans on the side, though.

Sometimes, okay, most times, I'd buy both. (One for later.)

I miss that place, Planet Fresh. (They need to update their google info, it wasn't open when I was last up there not that long ago.)

Still looks good to me. :dunno

I've been back and forth to Japan over the last 30 years. Supermarket sushi here is filling and you can certainly grind it, but kind of in the same realm as associating Taco Bell with good Mexican Food. Your closest bet to the better stuff would be a Korean market I think.

the kids like sushi burritos. downtown palo alto has sushirrito which I'm not much a fan of, but if we're in the area the kids will clamor for it.

I go to a place called Pacific Bowls & Rolls in Monterey... if it's a franchise, idk, but I like it.

Fair enough. Anecdotes are anecdotes.

That said, I would get sushi burritos fairly often at a spot near my office when I lived in Sacramento because the price was right, like grocery store sushi. We've come full circle!!:laughing
