Suzuki; $1,000 off many of their already enticing lower priced street bikes...

That's a good deal, if you can figure out where they're actually selling those.

So how bad are dealer fees these days?

Not at all, if you refuse to pay them. I don't see what the point of MSRP and a discount is if they try to add on bullshit fees like $700 for 30 minutes of setup.

Then there's documentation. Please, that's what MSRP covers. I don't pay a documentation fee to buy a gun and I sure as hell don't think a bike has more documents.

hawt... I'd be all over that DRZ if the offer lasted another month or 2

Not 100% sure about bikes, but when selling a car, there is a FIXED $55 doc fee. Period. Its a DMV thing, you can get them to discount it, or drop the price by $55, but that fee WILL be payed by the dealer to DMV. Its isn't BS. And yes, there are a lot of obnoxious forms and whatnot that must be sent to DMV. Thats why there has to be a business office.

Any other secrets to life you'd like to share :p

There's tons of CA fees that basically equal tax. When I say doc fee, I'm talking about fees that the dealer wants to prepare docs. I've heard of people coughing up $300 because they didn't know better.

You can go to the DMV website and figure out exactly what all the state mandated fees are. MSRP + those fees is the hard max I'd pay unless it's a magical bike everyone wants and they can't keep stocked, like the new Ninja 250s were. If they have a couple sitting around on the sales floor, it's base MSRP or lower.

I wonder if any of the other Japanese manufacturers will follow suit? Not like I'm looking for another bike, but if the prices drop and gas continues to go up (when the Saudis hit the streets, expect gas to go to $10 a gal., or see the Marines romping around Riyadh), that might bring in some more riders.

Anybody know a good, fair Suzuki dealer (preferably near the south bay)? :)

If anyone can call and find out if there are any SV650 bikes in California that are going for this deal, post it here. I can't call anything ATM :p

No SV650 standards left in California :( Not surprising since it's not a 50 state bike.

The guy on the phone told me the phone is ringing off the hook for the S models at 4999, though. Not my cup of tea but a great deal if you like them.

Yea I saw that deal and was considering.
I saw just 1 at gp sports at camden when I found out about the deal.
