Taking wheels off w/o stand

Get a rearstand and put a jack under the oil pan. You will want to use stands because all that torque you're putting on the axle nuts might cause the bike to tip over.
 
Offer to buy beer for a couple of friends to hold up the bike while you take the wheels off.
 
Taking it into the shop sounds like the best option. Thanks for all of your advice guys!
 
You do understand that the shop charge for removing the wheels and replacing them is enough to buy a stand, correct?
 
try using a engine hoist... or a jack just like what i did

did just that....found cheap used pitbull on eBay! things are tough like nails
