Not that it was really ever a hard starting , knee-whipping ratchet-launcher like some of the bigger bikes I had, but because, an old airhead like that will require endless money , time and part sourcing to keep happy.

At 74 years old, I may have finally acquired enough common sense not to but a "Nice Commando" or similar British bike, but those Pagosa seats....

Oddly, I'm more apt to tear up some bends on that 535ln RS than on the KTM.
But I've only once got the front wheel to float on the big girl, and I needed one of the speed bumps that's been put in SF.
The KTM does some things better, but im just not in tune with it.

I think you should have a Pacific Coast in white though.

Seriously, nostalgia purchases like this are only good if you have a crew of vintage riders to ride and hang with.

Sadly, I have outlived just about everyone I've ever ridden with. So that is a consideration.

What did you decide to do??

I've been haunting the auctions, classifieds and discussioin groups. So far, the oldies I'd consider are WAY far away. I can't picture buying something sight-unseen that I can't get my grubby hands on before acquiring it.
So, I am safe, for now.

Of course, if something really attractive pops up, I have been known to pounce.

There does seem to be a LOT of loose change out there right now, and people willing to plunk it down on anything that's slightly sexy.

Take for instance this Alfa, whch is a twin to one I purchased in 1969 for a whopping 800.00 USD. Talk about inflation!

Suzuki is still making new SVs for silly competitive prices.
The 800 twin looks fine too for the same kind of money.

Depends on if you want something to fix in the garage, or go for a ride whenever.
Old nostalgia is sometimes janky however hard you nos it.

That might be why there are no actual relics in my possiession right now. The "However" is that if I'm lucky, I'll have another 6-10 years of riding ahead of me. I've been leaning toward a modernish "classic" , but do enjoy not sorting out carburetion or electrical goblins.

The 7GX does look interesting, as it kind of fits my history of middle-weight twins.
