Teaser image of new 2011 Honda for the U.S..

Well I got bad news for you, this Honda V4 adventure bike will probably get spanked in a straight fight with a multistrada, and fail just as bad as the Super Tenere at being a cheaper GS. So no one is going to buy it.

What makes you think that is "bad news" to me?

Where did I say people were going to buy this or that it was any better than anything else? :wtf

In fact, I didn't even mention this bike at all.

I said bad news because I was trying to sound clever in a post on BARF. The clever part was where I zinged you by pointing out that this adv bike is going to be near as doesn't matter in price to the hypothetical $18K Honda mentioned in your post. With the VFR1200 going for $16K this adv will be in that neighborhood too I expect.

Sorry, missed and am still missing the clever part. I think you can benefit from "zinging" some reading comprehension.

My post was a bout how people will not buy a 18G + Honda Super Sport.

Zing.

there's 2 of these in norcal roaming around if that's what ya saw..

Honda could have taken the TransAlp which is a decent older design and then upgraded the suspension, punched it out to 800cc and made it 60 lbs lighter. Then they'd have a legitimate GS800 competitor

I'd guess this rumored 800 cc v4 adventure bike will come in a good 100 lbs too heavy for me to be interested.

Honda has been producing crap bikes as of late, and they wonder why sales are down. Lets see, how many bikes did they sell of the VFR1200F? or the Fury? and now the 250? that is a complete pile of shit. Whats this new thing? more junk........ Give us a bad ass racer damn it, and quit fucking around with these pussy bikes you are building:twofinger:rolleyes

:thumbup and...it sure wouldn't kill them to offer a few repackaged race bikes, in the various forms for different uses.

Seems like that would cost less to produce (and be more profitable) than the junk made for nobs, that doesn't sell.

Like I said, I rode the 2007?(maybe 06) version of the Transalp.

The motor is a peach, it handled really well. No need to drop in another motor, they could bring it in as it is, change the screen if you are over 6' and enjoy.

CrossRunner. Man does that feel like a car name.

No spoked wheels.

Big horn front and center.

V-Twin?

Help me out here; is that a motorcycle or a home gym ?

I need more time for these two model to grow on me. Hopefully they have underlining feature that is cool along with durability of a Honda because on looks alone? It just isn't going to cut it but then again...I like Vstroms ..so go figure.

i like em both...

when i had the vstrom 650, the feeling was like waking up to an ugly fat chick in bed that ya met at a bar the night before...

That Crosstour makes a Weestrom look svelte.

This.

Honestly, I would love to one day own a Honda again. My first streetbike was a Honda and haven't bought one since. :dunno

That thing looks like it will be heavier than the Tenere, slower than the GSA, more expensive than the Multistrada, uglier than the V-strom (or Versys :twofinger ), with less suspension travel than the 1050 Tiger. Honda really knows how to out-do the competition. :rolleyes

I hope to be proven wrong.

The big one is a 6th-generation VFR 800 (2002-2009) with butch, off-roady plastic. I'll guess that it weighs 575lb WITHOUT bags.

The huge one is a 7th-generation VFR 1200 (2010-) with butch, off-roady plastic. I read that the double-clutch, semi-auto tranny is standard, which adds at least 20lb to the standard VFR1200. I'll guess that it weighs 625lb WITHOUT bags.

And half as many wheels as a Pontiac Aztek:rofl.

Did honda employ union designers ? can we blame them ?

oh come on, somebody had to come up with a soloution to all the adventure riders getting stranded after they crashed in the dirt and broke their shift lever. Honda is genius.

I'll assume your joking (it reads better in that frame of mind)....

Cause dirt bike riders have been crashing and breaking off shift levers/clutch levers (pretty easy when they are both on the same side) for...as good as, forever.

Real challenging coming out of the mountains with steep descent's and climb's and stream crossings...when those levers are gone...But...it gets done.
