Thailand pics

Paid the registration on the CRF today. Officially the inspection, registration and government insurance is about $27usd a year. I used a service because I'm too lazy to go out to the land transport office myself (a little under 6 bucks) and I have third class insurance (basically like US liability insurance). So the total cost to register and insure the CRF runs about 60 bucks a year.

5 year old vehicles require a 60 baht inspection ($1.86usd). They basically check all the lights then stick this little meter in the exhaust to check the DB level.

After the registration place I rode over to a coffee shop. There were 3 Ladyboys dancing in the middle of the street still out from last night (Halloween). Got a high 5 as I rode by.

The registration for the CRF is always due Christmas Day but I won't be here. The story goes it was owned by a Thai lady with a foreign husband (or BF) and she wrecked it and sold it. I have always assumed the foreigner bought it for her for Christmas due to the registration date?

Chicken Tikka last night.

Nice ride this morning. Ended up hanging out with 4 bikers (peddle bikes) at a coffee shop.

Group of 20 bikes for the Friday ride, 3 or 4 passengers. Went to a bike themed place I have never been for coffee.

The big change of 2026 is my work schedule changed (well I changed it) so I'll now be visiting Thailand more times in a year for just under a month each visit. Not sure how this will work out with all the flights and jetlag.

Back in Thailand for a week now. Rode like 4 days this week but got kinda sick and really didn't take any pics.

Right when I got here jetlagged early morning ride, sunrise over a lake.

When I rode 84/9/1 in the Bay Area the sole of my old boot fell off. So I brought 1 boot with me and got it repaired yesterday (dropped off the day before and picked up yesterday). Cost was 400b/$12usd. I have both the tall and short Forma boots leaving the cooler shorter pair in Thailand. The tall one I got repaired is 8 years old. Love these boots but really prefer the shorter ones.

The stitching she did. (I won't be standing in any creeks anymore)

Test rode a CT125 today. I liked it, didn't hurt my back like the scooters do. The all down gears were a little weird and as soon as I stopped thinking about the bike I shifted the wrong way chirping the back tire. My only gripe is that bar just behind the seat digs into your ass if tall enough you sit on the back of the seat. I'd have to cut that thing off.
