The Diavel appears to be the business

Depends on what "business" your in.

And...what a rider wants in their bike. That influences how they feel about longish wheel base, and raked out forks and fat rear tire to please the cruiser image crowd.

The reviews I have read have been mostly people shocked out how fun it is and how well it handles.
Also, how it fast it is.

Not for everybody, I personally hate the look. But if it's as fun as they say it is I'd love to try one!

Ducati say it's the fastest accelerating bike in the 1/4 mile they've ever made.

Read the motorcyclist review and see what they are talking about.

Just read the review in Motorcyclist sounds like its the shizit.

I was pleasantly surprised to see actual tech specs on the bike and how it is basically a larger version of the monster. Everyone is totally shocked once they ride the bike and when I say everyone I mean the people on the top that count. :thumbup

What shocked me is that it weighs the same as my VFR.

The true question remains. Will these be like Harley? What I mean by that is will this bike be bought up by people that can't afford it and sold within a year? If so I wonder how much I can get one for!

I don't know if they will sell many, but it's a cool bike in my book.:cool

I like the looks (for that category) and based on the Motorcyclist review it's certainly both GO and show. A gutsy move and engineering success for Ducati in my book.

Wonder what it revs to?

EDIT 9500... No hydraulic lifters.... sigh... means you gotta do valve checks.

Low CG, who needs ground clearance if you aren't going to lean it over much, and a long wheelbase = an easy bike to launch and keep the front end down. That makes for a quick ET.

:thumbup

gotta give ducati it's praises for not following the cookie cutter mode and look like every other cruiser out there...

speaking of looks, it's something either i gotta see in person to appreciate better or it may grow on me...

as for the low seating and the position of the 'mid controls' (rearsets/footpegs to you spr0tbile fans), it looks kinda cramped...
