Just came across this review on Electrek - pretty cool budget/affordable option for a FS e-mountain bike.

The pace of development, dropping prices, and growing number of options is making it very hard to decide on my next pit/around-town bike. Can't seem to decide if I want to go tried/true scooter like a Zuma/Ruckus/Liberty/, a mini-bike like the Grom/Z125, or an e-bike like this or the Luna Cycle X1 (which is my top pick, currently)

Electrek’s Take
Here’s the thing: The Paselec GS9 isn’t some big-name e-bike. It doesn’t come from a flashy company and it doesn’t have big brand awareness. So I went into this review not expecting much.

And while I can tell it doesn’t have the quality level of those fancier full-suspension electric mountain bikes, it still surprised me with how well it handled what I threw at it.

To me, this is a great full-suspension electric mountain bike for recreational riders. If you’re a downhill enthusiast or regularly take the most technical trails at your local bike park, the GS9 probably isn’t the e-bike for you. You’ll want something more professional.

But if you’re just a weekend warrior that enjoys getting out in the dirt and mountains for some fun riding, the GS9 is more than happy to deliver that experience. It uses good but not great parts that help save on cost while still providing a more capable off-road ride than a typical hard tail mountain bike. It’s basically the definition of “value,” giving you just enough of what you need and at a reasonable price.

That’s exactly what I’m looking for in a proper budget-level, full-suspension electric mountain bike: something that gives me more capabilities without overly compromising on safety or quality.

yeah there's so many ebike options out there. The Light Bee makes a great pitbike btw =P Probably not as easy to transport as an ebike.

the X1 looks interesting,
a friend of mine really likes his Bafang BBSHD kit with a Luna battery, he does some pretty impressive dirt ride on it, 3000+ ft elevation gain in a 25 miles trip.

That Pasalec seems like a good deal, but I don't think the geared hub motor will last for off road riding.

I would look at the extended ride side of things on the street.
I'm enjoying my mini riding for the days adventure, there is the possibility to refuel.
Hooning about with like minded perps, could burn a tank or two.
I went monkey for the smaller size, to fit my load in the truck as backup transportation

can we just make another thread for shitty ebikes so this ones doesnt get polluted with crap?

Zero have apparently announced a limited edition carbon farkle package for the SR/F, the "Quickstrike". Truly do not understand what these Zero people are thinking. Was the world clamoring for farkles on a $25000 bike that can only go 100 miles? They really need to get the cost and weight under control, and the range up, and the price down!

they need to make a deal with the Devil to do all this now, I think.

Or at least add fast charging.
