Yo Danjoboy, I'm yer hucklberry. Dun rode Sweetwater today, and it wuz challenging; not only slime, gravel, 'n bumps, butt black and white ice on da road. :teeth
There were 'bout 5 patches like this; hurry up thar befoe they melt. :party

That does look tasty! :teeth

I did this route yesterday at 7 pm. On my Harley RoadGlide. I will never attempt this again at night

Heh, that bit isn't too bad. For some real fun, you can do an up-and-back on Montebello Road (next to the quarry driveway), or take a right at the stop-sign fork and keep on Stevens Canyon instead of Mt Eden, then make a left on Redwood Gulch... aka 9's backdoor. Redwood Gulch is really fun climb! :teeth

I dont get out much. the tight parts of Morgan Territory Road after a hard rain at around 28 mph?
nuts is relative..mine sure are...:ride

bump.

So Kurt, did you ride Sweetwater? How was it?

Finally! Yeah, it was fun. At first I was thinking, "too many driveways", but I got past them and there was hardly anyone out there. Parts of it reminded me of Fort Ross, and in other places it was kind of like Morgan Territory before it got "improved". :ride

When did they improve Morgan? I haven't been on that in a while.

Nice bump Kurt. Man I haven't been riding enough. Glad to see this though as I need to start thinking about routes for the spring rally.:party:banana

Wow, nice thread.
I just want everyone to know that for our honeymoon Sally and I went up the Forks of Salmon and went backpacking for a week. Back in the day. It was spectacular.

I rode the same route again last year on the barf rally.

It was spectacular.

It got a fresh grading/chip sealing about a year back. It's not like it's a freeway or anything, but a bit smoother than it was.

The only challenging road I've been on of late is 880, boy do I need a ride :|

Well, 880 is scary.

Yep, you need to get out and ride. :ride

Good thread.
Now have a whole lot more roads that I am gonna ride in my bucket list.

I rode Sheep Ranch Road yesterday, cutting over to Railroad Flat Road.

Sheep Ranch Road goes out of Murphys, just before Ebbetts Pass (one of my favorite roads in CA). It was super twisty and tight, steep with lots of hairpins with significant elevation changes in-turn, and really rough - not so much pavement as a string of patches barely touching each other. Lots of fun. And of course there are a lots of other really roads up in that area.

And then a right onto Railroad Flat, and anudder right on 26, and it gets really good. :teeth

Then of course, if you dive left onto... :laughing

That's actually the way I went - there was some congestion a ways up Railroad Flat, some kind of event with CHP walking directing traffic and a bunch of cars leading up to that. Headed over towards Sac on Fiddletown.

So much good stuff over there. I could go back and forth across the mountains for several days without getting bored.
