The MV Agusta F3 - Thoughts?

Even in the burgundy it's still stunning. Kinda blingy like the Tamburini was (really? gold anodized vents?). I wouldn't kick it out of bed for eating crackers, but I would opt for traditional MV red and silver if I had my druthers. Massimo Tamburini sure can create breath taking designs.

Although the F3 looks, IMHO, almost identicle to the F4, it isn't a Tamburini creation - Tamburini inspired, certainly. The designer of the F3 is Adrian Morton... I believe he's a Brit.

(old grouchy voice)

"I am sure it is painful.

In the way having a totally hot 22 year old girlfriend would be painful."

That said, while I would not be interested in having a hot 22 yr old girlfriend, I'd happily suffer some pain for this damn thing!

Most definitely this. The burgundy/silver color is pretty sexy in person, but the black/red trumps all, imo.

Ok... Saw the F3 last night in the flesh. It was the red/silver color... It's a great looking bike in this option - a veritable feast for the eyes. The bike is super narrow & sits a tad lower than my D675R. You also feel as if you're sitting "in" the bike vs. atop it. Details such as the small tail section (vs. the F4), the clean-designed wheels & the triple side-exit exhaust really stand out when viewing the machine up close. The traditional red/slvr color does the F3 complete justice.

The most surprising thing to me, being accustomed to the British triples, was the sound of the MV's 675 - low & menacing... kinda like a pitbull getting ready to get down to business. It doesn't have the usual fan fare & familiar mecha-electronic wind up my Triumph goes through before springing to life with a higher-pitched, recognizable, triple song. The Italians created their own music to go with their artwork...

My second meeting with the new Italian girl was a better experience. And with a $14K cheaper price-tag (vs the Oro), I'm "in like"... :)

Saturday is a test-n-tune, Triple attack on our local roads. Fun stuff... :thumbup

Don't worry yourselves over the Oro.

The 25 that came to the US were all pre-sold.

So, if you decide the F3 is IT and you need to get rid of a D675R please contact me. :teeth

I'd date the MV - but the Triumph's a keeper.

That doesn't sounds right my friend - in case your Triumph get mad, I do have a place for her to spend a night :laughing

To all the seriousness, F3 is a track bike in my eye - it's light, narrow, and always want to go..

Gorgeous bike, but initial 'First Ride' reports floating out there haven't been glowing about how well it actually goes.

In black it reminds me of a Katana. I don't mean that as a compliment.

Someone either needs to go directly to the eye doctor....or....google a Katana to remind yourself what they look like.....:teeth

It is sexy, no doubt, but I'd rather see a bit more of a departure from the OG F4 750.

For me, I'd buy a ZX6R and toss an Ohlins rear and some other goodies, but to each his own!

^ Along the same lines, I think the F3 is gorgeous, but for 14k I'd rather have the new ZX-10R.

White D675R. All the sexy with all the Ohlins for less money/better performance (According to reports, I don't have first hand experience)

F3: $13,498

D675: $10,999
Ohlins TTX shock and 30mm cartridges: $2,249
Triumph quick shifter $400
Total: $13,648

Daytona 675R: $12,699

The Daytona 675R is the deal of the century!!

Still, the F3 is sexy as hell. The exhaust is gorgeous.
